esimup
Plain language, carefully kept

Privacy, without the small print mood.

A clear account of the limited data practices behind this independent editorial website.

This notice explains what happens when you read esimup. The short version is simple: this site sets no first-party tracking cookies, does not run its own analytics service, and does not store contact-form data.

Last updated: 14 February 2026. esimup is an independent informational resource about travel connectivity. It is not a telecom operator, mobile carrier or eSIM provider. For the editorial boundaries behind that statement, read about esimup.

What this notice covers

This notice applies to pages served from esimup.digital. It describes information that may be processed in the ordinary course of delivering a website, the optional contact action described below, and requests made to third-party services that supply presentation resources. It does not govern the practices of an eSIM provider, device manufacturer, email application, hotel network or any other service you choose to use.

We aim to collect as little as possible. Reading the site does not require an account, a purchase, a login or a profile. The site does not offer an account dashboard and does not ask for payment information.

Cookies and local storage

esimup sets no first-party tracking cookies. It does not use advertising cookies, social tracking pixels or cookies intended to follow visitors across websites. Your browser may, however, make its own records or receive cookies from third parties based on its settings and the services it contacts.

The dark/light appearance control uses browser localStorage to remember a chosen theme on your device. This preference is not sent to esimup as a profile, is not used for advertising, and can be cleared through your browser's site-data controls. The site also respects a device-level colour preference until you make a choice.

Privacy should leave the reader a clear view of what is happening, and what is not.

Analytics and server information

esimup does not operate a first-party analytics platform on this site. We do not create visitor profiles, use behavioural advertising, or sell visitor information. Like most web delivery, the hosting environment may process technical request information such as an IP address, browser request, time of request and requested page in server or security logs. Such information is handled by the relevant hosting infrastructure under its own operational and legal requirements, and is not used by us to build a reader profile.

If that processing concerns you, you may use ordinary browser privacy controls, content blockers, private browsing and network tools according to your own judgement. These choices can affect the loading of third-party resources described below.

Contact form and email

The form on the contact page does not submit information to a website server. Its JavaScript composes a mailto: link and opens the email application configured on your device. The information you type is not transmitted to or stored by esimup through that form. Sending the resulting email is your separate choice.

If you email [email protected], your email provider and our email service may process the message, its address and the information you voluntarily include. We use correspondence to read, respond where appropriate, investigate reported editorial errors and maintain a record needed for that correspondence. Do not send account passwords, activation codes, payment details, special-category personal information or other sensitive information. We cannot assist with provider accounts or activation issues.

The useful distinction: a mailto form is not a hosted support ticket. This site does not store form fields or promise a response time. Sending an email is voluntary, and an email provider's own privacy terms apply.

Third-party requests

For typography and layout, pages request resources from Google Fonts and Tailwind's CDN. For editorial photography, pages request images from Unsplash's image CDN. Your browser may send these services technical request information, including an IP address and browser details, as required to fetch a resource. Their use of that information is governed by their respective privacy notices and policies, not this notice.

We choose those services to render the site, not to conduct targeted advertising. Still, external requests are a real privacy consideration. A reader who prefers not to contact those services may use browser tools that block external resources; portions of the presentation may then look different. Links to other websites, including manufacturer and provider resources mentioned as sources of their own information, also take you to sites governed by their own notices.

Data handling and retention

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not use reader data to make automated decisions, create advertising audiences or infer sensitive characteristics. Where correspondence is received by email, it is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the exchange, maintain relevant editorial records or meet legal obligations. Information may be deleted sooner if it is no longer needed, subject to technical backups and applicable duties.

We do not intentionally seek information from children. If you believe information about a child has been sent to our email address without appropriate authority, contact us so that the concern can be considered.

Your rights and choices

Depending on your location and the circumstances, data-protection law may give you rights to request access to personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, objection to processing, data portability, or withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent. In the European Economic Area and United Kingdom, you may also have a right to complain to the relevant data-protection supervisory authority.

To make a request relating to information in an email you sent us, write to [email protected] and explain the request. We may need reasonable information to identify the correspondence concerned and will consider requests in accordance with applicable law. Rights are not absolute; for example, limited retention may be necessary for legal or security reasons.

Changes and contact

We may revise this notice if the website's practices, external resources or applicable requirements change. The updated date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page rather than hidden in a newsletter preference.

Questions about this notice may be sent to [email protected]. For the broader editorial approach, visit our mission and publishing standards; for general travel eSIM explanations, begin with the European field guide.
